Goodbye jackfm from baltimore

bits below from dcrtv.com

CC To Take Over QSR Wednesday – 3/30 – DCRTV hears that Clear Channel will officially take over operations of Baltimore’s WQSR, 102.7 FM, on Wednesday, 4/1. As part of a multi-city multi-station trade deal announced in late 2008 by CC and QSR’s current owner, CBS Radio. So far, no word on what will happen with QSR’s “Jack” classic hits format. Although we are hearing that changes will occur at QSR and CC’s low-rated Baltimore alt rocker, WCHH, 104.3 FM, in the not too distant future. With the transfer of QSR, Clear Channel now has four Baltimore radioers, with CBS dropping from five to four. CBS put its Baltimore radio stations on the market last fall, but, so far, no other takers. Probably due to the slumping economy and tight credit market…..

Goodbye Jack? – 3/31 – Yesterday, DCRTV told you that Clear Channel is slated to take over as owner of CBS’s WQSR, 102.7 FM, in Baltimore as of midnight tonight. And, it looks like the classic hits “Jack” format may be pink-slipped. Check out this message at 1027jackfm.com: “This Tuesday night, as 102.7 JACK FM leaves the CBS/Baltimore family of radio stations, we’d like to thank you for listening. We hope you’ve enjoyed it. We know we have!” So, what does Clear Channel have planned? A contemporary hit format like CC-DC’s Hot 99.5? Or maybe a revamped oldies format? Maybe putting CC’s WCAO AM gospel format on FM? Stay tuned…..
