fox to stop rental dvd outlets?
From DCRTV.com:
Get Ready To Pay More For DVDs – 8/10 –
Rant. Media baron Rupert Murdoch wants more of your money. Soon, you’ll be paying a fee to access his website like FoxNews.com. And, if you love buying used DVDs at places like Blockbuster and Hollywood Video, Rupy may end that discount. Apparently, his Fox movie studio doesn’t like video outlets renting just-out DVDs and then selling them on the cheap. Soon, rental outlets may get DVDs weeks after they’re available for purchase and have destroy them when they’re done with them. More from AP. More Rants…..
My Question in all this what about netflix? How are they affected?

update on Gears of War film
from killer film:
Probably surpassing Halo in its popularity on the Xbox, Gears of war and its hugely successful sequel are to put it lightly extremely popular with the gaming crowd, so when news came of a film adaptation in the works the news came with skepticism and overwhelming joy. Chris Morgan who previously penned Wanted and the last two Fast and Furious films will be doing the screenplay for the Gears of War film which has the infamous delta squad battling the deadly alien race called the locust horde. Morgan, just recently gave an update on the films status and states: “A draft went in and we’re talking about it now and we’re budgeting it out,” “It’s looking incredibly good.”
“All the stuff you want to see, we put that in there and then we blow it out a little more, even. Now it’s just a matter of honing in on all of the character arcs and determining production types of things.” Morgan also stated on the huge scope of the film stating:“It’s huge,” “One of the things they’re really talking about now is the budget of the film and how big of a spectacle this is going to be. My argument is, look at the underlying material. Look at the game and the scenario — the fact that the world is being taken over by the Locust, it has to be huge.”

JJ Abrams Open to ‘Star Trek’ Sequel w/ Shatner or Khan
After last weekend’s $76.5 million opening, three phrases keep getting tossed in the direction of “Star Trek” director J.J. Abrams: sequel, Khan, and William Shatner. On Friday, as the filmmaker hoped to maintain momentum heading into his second weekend, Abrams told MTV News that he’s open to all three.
